AROI (Authenticated Relay Operator Identifier) represents operators who provide contact information following the ContactInfo Information Sharing Specification.

Leaderboard Categories:

🚀 Bandwidth Capacity Contributed: Total observed bandwidth capacity across all relays
⚖️ Network Heavyweight Rankings: Total consensus weight percentage in the network
🚪 Exit Authorities: Exit consensus weight percentage (authority over exit traffic)
🛡️ Guard Authorities: Guard consensus weight percentage (authority over entry traffic)
🚪 Exit Champions: Number of exit relays operated
🛡️ Guard Gatekeepers: Number of guard relays operated
🌈 Most Diverse: Geographic, AS rarity-weighted network, and platform diversity score

⏰ Reliability Masters Scoring (6-Month):

6-Month Reliability Score Calculation: The Reliability Masters category measures recent operational excellence using simple average uptime data from the Onionoo API over the past 6 months. Only operators with more than 25 relays are eligible to ensure statistical significance.

Eligibility: Only operators with more than 25 relays are included (ensures meaningful sample size)
Primary Factor - Average 6-Month Uptime: Simple mean uptime percentage across all operator's relays from Onionoo 6-month uptime data
No Weighting Applied: All relays count equally regardless of bandwidth capacity
Data Source: Tor Project's Onionoo API 6-month uptime endpoint with normalized 0-999 scale values
Update Frequency: Updated every 30 minutes as new consensus data becomes available

6-Month Reliability Formula: reliability_score = Σ(relay_6month_uptime) / relay_count

Example: An operator with 30 relays: relay1 (98% uptime), relay2 (97% uptime), relay3 (95% uptime), ... relay30 (96% uptime) would score: (98 + 97 + 95 + ... + 96) / 30 = 96.7% reliability score.

Focus: Emphasizes consistent operational performance across all relays for established operators, ideal for identifying operators with excellent short-term reliability.

👑 Legacy Titans Scoring (5-Year):

5-Year Reliability Score Calculation: The Legacy Titans category measures long-term operational stability using simple average uptime data from the Onionoo API over the past 5 years. Only operators with more than 25 relays are eligible to ensure statistical significance.

Eligibility: Only operators with more than 25 relays are included (ensures meaningful sample size)
Primary Factor - Average 5-Year Uptime: Simple mean uptime percentage across all operator's relays from Onionoo 5-year uptime data
No Weighting Applied: All relays count equally regardless of bandwidth capacity or historical changes
Historical Perspective: Accounts for natural infrastructure evolution and operator lifecycle over 5-year period
Longevity Recognition: Operators with 5+ years of service demonstrate exceptional long-term commitment

5-Year Reliability Formula: reliability_score = Σ(relay_5year_uptime) / relay_count

Example: An operator with 40 relays over 5-year history: 25 active relays averaging 94.2% uptime, 15 retired relays (91.8% historical uptime) would score: ((25 × 94.2) + (15 × 91.8)) / 40 = 93.2% legacy reliability score, demonstrating sustained long-term commitment.

Focus: Recognizes operators who have demonstrated exceptional long-term reliability and sustained commitment to the Tor network through multiple years of consistent uptime performance, infrastructure upgrades, and network service.

🚀 Bandwidth Served Masters Scoring (6-Month):

6-Month Bandwidth Score Calculation: The Bandwidth Served Masters category measures recent bandwidth served performance using simple average bandwidth data from the Onionoo API over the past 6 months. Only operators with 25 or more relays AND a non-zero 6-month bandwidth score qualify for ranking.

Eligibility: Only operators with more than 25 relays are included (ensures meaningful sample size)
Primary Factor - Average 6-Month Bandwidth: Simple mean bandwidth served across all operator's relays from Onionoo 6-month bandwidth data

Focus: Recognizes operators who have demonstrated exceptional sustained bandwidth contribution and long-term commitment to the Tor network through consistent high bandwidth served performance, infrastructure investment, and network capacity expansion over multiple years.

✅ AROI Validation Champions Scoring:

Validation Score Calculation: The AROI Validation Champions category measures operator commitment to verified identity and accountability by counting relays with valid AROI cryptographic proofs.

Eligibility: All operators with at least one relay that has valid AROI proof (DNS-RSA or URI-RSA)
Primary Factor: Count of relays with valid AROI cryptographic proofs verified by aroivalidator.1aeo.com
Proof Types: DNS-RSA (TXT records) or URI-RSA (HTTPS file verification)
Invalid Relays: Shown for transparency but do not contribute to ranking score
Data Source: Real-time validation data from aroivalidator.1aeo.com

Validation Formula: validation_score = count(relays_with_valid_aroi_proof)

Example: An operator with 50 relays: 45 relays with valid AROI proofs (DNS-RSA or URI-RSA), 5 relays with failed validation would score: 45 validated relays, ranking by the count of successfully validated relays.

Focus: Promotes operator accountability and transparency by recognizing those who maintain proper AROI cryptographic verification across their relay infrastructure, demonstrating commitment to verified identity and network trust.

🌈 Diversity Champion Scoring:

Diversity Score Calculation: The diversity score combines geographic, network, and platform diversity:

Geographic Component: Number of countries × 3.0 (highest weight for jurisdictional spread)
Network Component: Each unique AS (Autonomous System) is scored 0–5 for rarity, then the sum is divided by 2.5.
- Base (0–3) — Consensus Weight: How much of the network's authority does this AS hold? Dominant ≥5% CW = 0 pts; Major 0.5–5% = 1 pt; Moderate 0.05–0.5% = 2 pts; Small <0.05% = 3 pts
- Bonus (0–2) — Operator Count: How many distinct operators share this AS? Popular (10+) = 0 pts; Few (2–10) = +1 pt; Sole operator = +2 pts
Examples: OVH (≥5% CW, 190+ operators) = 0. Flokinet (<0.05% CW, 3 operators) = 3+1 = 4. A sole-operator private AS (<0.05% CW) = 3+2 = 5.
Platform Component: Number of operating systems × 1.0 (promotes OS diversity beyond Linux)

AS Rarity Tiers: Legendary (4–5): minimal footprint, sole/few operators; Epic (3): small provider or moderate with few operators; Rare (2): moderate provider; Emerging (1): major provider; Common (0): dominant providers like OVH and Hetzner.

Network Percentage Factor (3x weight): Countries representing smaller portions of the network score higher (6 points for <0.05%, 4 points for 0.05-0.1%, 2 points for 0.1-0.2%)
Geopolitical Factor (2x weight): Strategic importance based on conflict zones (3 points), authoritarian regimes (3 points), island nations (2 points), and developing countries (1-2 points)
Regional Factor (1x weight): Underrepresented regions like Africa, Central Asia, and Pacific Islands (2 points) or emerging regions (1 point)

Operator Scoring: Each operator's rare country score is the sum of points from all countries where they operate relays.

Secondary Factor - Relay Scale Multiplier: Tiered scaling from 1.0x to 1.3x based on total relay count (tiebreaker for similar veterans)

Micro Operators (1-9 relays): 1.0x scaling factor (no bonus)
Large Operators (100+ relays): 1.2x scaling factor (20% bonus for sustained commitment)
Top Tier Operators (300+ relays): 1.3x scaling factor (30% bonus for major operations)

Veteran Formula: veteran_score = veteran_days × veteran_relay_scaling_factor

Example: An operator running relays since 2010 (5,000 days) with 150 relays would score: 5,000 × 1.2 = 6,000 veteran points, potentially beating a smaller operator from 2009 (5,453 days) who scores 5,453 × 1.0 = 5,453 points.
